What is the AP EAMCET Rank Calculator?

The AP EAMCET Rank Calculator is a free tool for Andhra Pradesh engineering aspirants to estimate their rank based on their AP EAMCET score and intermediate marks. The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is conducted by JNTU Kakinada on behalf of APSCHE for admission to engineering, agriculture, and medical programs across the state. The rank you get in AP EAMCET is the primary criterion for seat allocation through the centralized counselling process for over 500 engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

The AP EAMCET ranking system is unique because it gives 75% weightage to the entrance exam score and 25% weightage to the IPE (Intermediate) marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This means that your performance in both the board exams and the entrance exam matters. Students who focus on both exams tend to get better ranks than those who neglect one in favour of the other.

How to Use the EAMCET Rank Predictor

Using the EAMCET rank predictor is simple. Enter your AP EAMCET score out of 160 in the first field. Next, enter your IPE second-year marks for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry combined. The default maximum is 300 (100 per subject for AP Board). If you studied under a different board or your IPE has different maximum marks, adjust the maximum accordingly. Click Calculate to see your combined score out of 100 and your estimated rank based on the expected number of candidates.

Understanding the AP EAMCET Ranking Formula

The AP EAMCET ranking formula is designed to reward both entrance exam aptitude and consistent board exam performance. The formula: Combined Score = (EAMCET Score / 160 × 75) + (IPE Marks in M+P+C / IPE Maximum × 25). For example, if you scored 130 in EAMCET and 280 in IPE M+P+C (out of 300): EAMCET contribution = 130/160 × 75 = 60.94, IPE contribution = 280/300 × 25 = 23.33, combined score = 84.27 out of 100. With approximately 1.8 lakh candidates, this combined score would give an estimated rank of around 2000-3000.

During the counselling process, ranks are used to allocate seats in order of merit. The first round of counselling allows top-ranked candidates to choose from all available seats. Subsequent rounds fill remaining seats. Category reservation (OC, BC, SC, ST) also affects the effective rank for seat allocation within each category. Our calculator gives you an estimated open-competition rank, which you can then adjust based on your category using historical cutoff trends.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to calculate AP EAMCET rank?
AP EAMCET rank is calculated using a weighted formula: 75% weightage to EAMCET entrance marks and 25% weightage to IPE (Intermediate) marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. The combined score = (EAMCET marks × 75 / Maximum EAMCET marks) + (IPE marks in M+P+C × 25 / Maximum IPE marks). Students are ranked based on this combined score. Higher combined score gives a better rank in the AP EAMCET merit list.
What is the AP EAMCET ranking formula?
The official AP EAMCET ranking formula is: Combined Score = (EAMCET Score / 160 × 75) + (IPE Marks in M+P+C / Maximum IPE Marks × 25). The EAMCET maximum is 160 marks (Mathematics 80, Physics 40, Chemistry 40). IPE maximum is usually 300 (100 per subject). The combined score is out of 100. Candidates are ranked in descending order. This formula applies to engineering stream (MPC group).
What is a good rank in AP EAMCET?
A rank under 500 is excellent and guarantees top college branches like SVU CSE, Andhra University CSE, or JNTU Kakinada CSE. Ranks 500-3000 are very good for most government colleges. Ranks 3000-10000 are good for reputed private colleges. Ranks 10000-30000 are average but still provide many options. Ranks above 30000 limit choices but there are still affiliated colleges accepting lower ranks. The competitiveness varies by branch and college location.
What is the maximum marks in AP EAMCET?
The maximum marks in AP EAMCET engineering stream is 160. Mathematics has 80 marks (40 questions of 2 marks each). Physics has 40 marks (40 questions of 1 mark each). Chemistry has 40 marks (40 questions of 1 mark each). Total questions: 120. There is no negative marking in AP EAMCET. The exam duration is 3 hours and it is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
How is AP EAMCET rank calculated with IPE?
AP EAMCET rank combines your EAMCET score (75% weightage) with your IPE second-year marks in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (25% weightage). For example: EAMCET score 120/160 gives 120/160×75 = 56.25. IPE marks 270/300 gives 270/300×25 = 22.5. Combined score = 56.25 + 22.5 = 78.75/100. This combined score determines your rank. The higher your combined score, the better your rank in the state-wide merit list.
What is the AP EAMCET rank for CSE in Andhra University?
Andhra University College of Engineering CSE typically requires a rank under 300-500 in AP EAMCET. For SVU Tirupati CSE, rank under 500-800. For JNTU Kakinada CSE, rank under 1000-2000. For government colleges in smaller cities, CSE cutoff ranks range from 3000-8000. These ranges are approximate and depend on the category (OC, BC, SC, ST) and the specific counselling round.
How to check AP EAMCET rank 2026?
AP EAMCET 2026 rank will be published by APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) on the official website (sche.ap.gov.in/eamcet). You need your registration number and hall ticket number to access the rank card. The rank card displays your EAMCET marks, IPE weightage marks, combined score, and state rank. Ranks are published separately for engineering and agriculture/medical streams.
Does IPE marks affect AP EAMCET rank?
Yes, IPE (Intermediate) marks significantly affect your AP EAMCET rank. They carry 25% weightage in the combined score. If two students have the same EAMCET score, the one with higher IPE marks gets the better rank. A difference of 10 IPE marks can change your combined score by about 0.83 points, which could translate to a rank difference of hundreds or even thousands of positions depending on the score distribution.
What is the AP EAMCET normalisation process?
AP EAMCET uses normalisation to ensure fairness across different exam sessions. Since the exam is conducted in multiple shifts with potentially different difficulty levels, raw scores are normalised using the equipercentile method. This ensures that students from more difficult shifts are not disadvantaged. The normalised score is what gets used in the ranking formula. The normalisation is done by the exam conducting authority before publishing the results.
How many candidates appear for AP EAMCET?
Approximately 150,000 to 200,000 candidates appear for AP EAMCET engineering stream each year. With this large number of test-takers, the competition is intense. A rank under 10,000 puts you in the top 5-7% of all candidates. The exact number varies yearly based on the number of engineering aspirants in Andhra Pradesh and the overall admission trends.
What is the minimum EAMCET rank for government college?
The minimum AP EAMCET rank for government college admission varies widely. For top government colleges like Andhra University and SVU, you generally need under 3000-5000 rank for most branches. For district-level government colleges, ranks up to 15000-25000 may get admission in core branches. For less competitive branches in rural government colleges, ranks up to 40000-50000 may be acceptable.
What is the AP EAMCET 2026 exam pattern?
AP EAMCET 2026 engineering stream pattern: Three sections — Mathematics (80 marks, 40 questions of 2 marks), Physics (40 marks, 40 questions of 1 mark), Chemistry (40 marks, 40 questions of 1 mark). Total: 160 marks, 120 questions. Duration: 3 hours. Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT). Negative marking: None. The syllabus is based on AP Board of Intermediate Education Class 11 and 12 curriculum.
